During your stay, you will work alongside teachers and children on a range of activities, while discovering different ways of living, learning and connecting with others. It is a two-way experience: you come to contribute, but also to listen, discover and learn.

You do not need previous experience or specific qualifications. What matters most is your willingness to get involved, your ability to adapt and enough English to communicate comfortably during your stay.

What does volunteering involve?

Volunteers support the teaching team and take part in school activities, adapting to the needs of the day and the different age groups.

With younger children, the focus is on supporting them through games and activities that encourage their development, social skills and gradual adjustment to group and classroom routines.

With older children, you can help with reading, writing, English or maths, support them with homework and school projects, and assist teachers with educational activities.

In the afternoons, there is also time to organise games, workshops and activities suited to each age group.

Your skills can make a difference

We are not only looking for teachers or volunteers with particular professional backgrounds. We welcome people who are eager to get involved and share their skills.

Painting, DIY, music, drawing, arts and crafts, or sports such as football and basketball can all become wonderful activities to share with the children.

There are also plenty of other tasks that arise in the day-to-day running of the project. Everyone can find their own way to contribute.

Where will you stay?

Accommodation is provided at a lodge approximately 10 km from the school, with double rooms and bathrooms.

Breakfast and dinner are served at the lodge, while lunch is shared at the school during the day.

How much does it cost?

The estimated cost of volunteering is around €400 per week, including accommodation and meals.

Flights to Namibia are not included. You can travel from the airport to the project using shared transport. Alternatively, you can rent a vehicle at your own expense; this is not included in the price.

What can you bring?

If you have room in your luggage, certain supplies can be very useful for the projects.

Children’s clothing and shoes, caps, balls, toys and educational materials are some of the items that may be helpful.

Please check with us before packing. Needs change, and we can let you know which supplies are most needed at the time.
