Koviao lived with her mother in a small hut without running water or electricity, in a very modest settlement on the outskirts of the city. Opportunities to access a quality education were virtually nonexistent. With the support she received, she was able to enroll in a school that offered better prospects and, through extraordinary effort, successfully progressed through each stage of her education.

Her perseverance, discipline, and talent helped her achieve a goal that once seemed out of reach: earning a degree in Environmental Biology. Today, at just 23 years old, she works as a biologist in the mining industry in central Namibia, pursuing a highly skilled career and showing that hard work, combined with the right opportunities, can completely change the course of a life.

Stories like Koviao’s embody the heart of Samzi. We firmly believe that education is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, creating new opportunities, and building stronger, more sustainable communities. Every child who has access to a quality education has the potential to become a force for change for their family, their community, and future generations.

Koviao has not only transformed her own life; today, she is an inspiration to many other young people, showing that with support, perseverance, and self-belief, even the most challenging dreams can come true.
